How We Started
Jacob Smeaton, Owner, is a Tampa native and a 2nd generation Wedding & Event Professional. He comes from a musical family where his father founded a local favorite DJ Entertainment Service… Music On The Move in 1995. He has two brothers, one who is a DJ, and one who is a well-known music remixer/producer in California!
Since the time of Jacob joining the industry in 1997, under his father as a Wedding/Event DJ, he performed at thousands of events. As time progressed, he also worked in the office and managed much of the multi operator DJ business. During that time, he attended and graduated with Honors from USF with a major in Finance and a minor in Economics. Jacob later took over the business, in 2009, as his father transitioned into real estate.
Wanting to grow the business, Jacob dreamed of adding more service options in the rental, décor, lighting, & production side of weddings/events. Although Jacob does not personally DJ events anymore, he still runs a stable of professional DJs/MCs and concentrates on running/growing the business as you see today.
Most importantly, he is a dedicated husband and father of 3. Currently, his wife and children are working within the company as a 3rd generation in the Tampa Wedding & Event Industry.
